"I have a related question.  I have ST290 instruments. When I go to calibrate the wind instrument I get good readings from three directions, but the apparent wind readout is 20 degrees off on the starboard side. Does this sound like a hardware…"

Underway - Raymarine, US replied to stephen ribakoff's discussion boat speed pod
"The Red and Shield going to the transducer should be the same at or around 8 volts.  If you are not see the Speed chapter at all it is pointing toward the POD.  Are you seeing other transducers on the Seatalk 2 network?  Did the Speed…"

boat speed pod

I am trying to determine whether I have a problem with my speed/temp transducer or the pod.  I am getting no listing for speed on the chapter section of my st290 displays.  I have performed the test with the green/shield wires.  I am getting a flashing green light on the inside of the pod.  What is the voltage reading supposed to be on the red/shield wires going to the transducer?  I am measureing .25volt.  The voltage going into the top of the pod reads 8voltsSee More

"Seatalk HS is an Ethernet, network so it won't be that.  Because you are are not seeing the data on the ST290 displays or the option of the chapters, for any of the transducers connected points toward the DPU, it is the processing piece…"

"there have been no changes to the setup or wiring of the system prior to its failure.  Is there any thing I can look for on the e80 setup mode that would indicate whether it is the DPU or seatalkhs.  Can I just replace the DPU with a new…"

Underway - Raymarine, US replied to stephen ribakoff's discussion st290 instruments not working
"I am a Raymarine Technician. With all of them going out at the same time, it does point toward the ST290 DPU, but there is no really field troubleshooting that can be done other than checking connections and power to the DPU.  Unfortunately the…"

st290 instruments not working

I have an e80 and e120 multifunction system.  It uses st290 displays for wind, speed, and depth readings.  I am getting no readings or can not find the listing on the chapter page for any of the above.  I want to send the proper unit in for repair.  How can I tell if the DPU or the seatalk hs system is the culprit.  I am getting proper voltage readings off all the sensors. I also have a tridata depth/speed display that is also not working that uses the same sensors.I am new to this discussion…See More
