"The blank plug is a terminating resistor, on a Seatalk 2 CAN bus, if the bus doesn't have two resistors it shouldn't work, but sometimes it could work for a short period of time.  This doesn't give me any insight as to the cause…"

"Thank you for your response, No I do not have a diagram of all the systems layout. HR do provide a electrical layout of the boat but this does not include the Raymarine systems. But to follow this line of thought. The mast was removed for winter…"

Underway - Raymarine, US replied to Murray G McPhail's discussion Failure of course heading vectors.
"When the vectors drift off by 30 or 40 degree, do the sources of the data change as well? Meaning Heading is coming from the autopilot and Wind is coming from the wind instrument, do those displays change when the vector data changes on the E120?"

Murray G McPhail replied to Murray G McPhail's discussion Failure of course heading vectors.
"Im sorry I don't completely understand your question, I understand that HDG and COG will not be the same and reflect the drift caused by wind and tide. This is a major instant change by the HDG wind vector and boat image. I'm guessing 30…"

Underway - Raymarine, US replied to Murray G McPhail's discussion Failure of course heading vectors.
"Does the HDG Vector and Wind Vector mirror the changes on the Autopilot control head and wind instrument display?  Heading and COG will not be exactly the same, COG will vary in accuracy as speed increases, meaning the faster the speed the more…"

Failure of course heading vectors.

Hi All,I'm having an issue with my E 120 chart plotter maintaining a course. The issue is that while in passage either under sail or motor the chart vectors part.Without warning the red HOG vector , boat image, and yellow wind vector will head to port by 30 to 40 degrees, the green COG vector will stay on track. After about a minute the HOG , wind vector, and boat image will correct itself , but now the COG vector will head to starboard by a similar amount of degrees. In another 20 to 40 seconds…See More
