Gordon Long replied to Gordon Long's discussion ST70 auto pilot - won't disengage & "drive motor not on"
"Actually I wasn't even having the chart plotter direct the auto pilot . I often don't when sailing at sea. I use the chart plotter to navigate waypoint legs. I manually steer the boat on the new heading then engage the auto pilot, using…"

Underway - Raymarine, US replied to Chris's discussion gWind Calibration
"The a/c/e/gS-Series MFDs and i70 MFIDs are NMEA 2000 Certified devices.  The i70 MFIDs are capable of calibrating Raymarine SeaTalkng/NMEA 2000 smart transducers.  When interfacing third party NMEA 2000 sensors to a system, calibration of…"

Underway - Raymarine, US replied to John's discussion Best Location of EV-1 Sensor Core?
"You might be over thinking.  The EV-1 should be mounted where a standard fluxgate compass is located.  Rule of thumb, as close to the center-line, as close to mid-ships, as close to the waterline as possible for the best available heading…"

"Mike, Negative.  The networking cable used interface a C-Series Classic MFD to a DSM30/300 differs from that used to interface an a/c/e/gS-Series MFD to a DSM30/300."

Moderator - Raymarine, US replied to Mike's discussion E7 and C classic mfd together
"Mike, You can indeed interface a DSM300 to an e7 MFD.  One would typically do so using a cable assembly comprised of an A80272 RayNet (M) to SeaTalkhs (M) Adapter and an appropriate length of RayNet (F) to RayNet (F)…"

Best Location of EV-1 Sensor Core?

In order for the sensor to get the most/best information on the movement of my boat, I am thinking that the sensor needs to be mounted as high as possible and perhaps aft of the center of gravity to maximize the motion inputs and therefore the response and accuracy of the system.  Is this a good idea or am I over-thinking this?See More
