Backbone power

Since I am using 12DC everywhere would it be OK to connect the backbone power to the ACU-100 line (double up the connection in the strip)? Would I need an inline fuse (1AMP) on the backbone power?Continue

FLOB - Raymarine, US replied to Don Bruce's discussion Excessive overshoot
"Do you have speed through the water coming from anywhere? Incorrect speed data can cause this issue. Do you have a sounder? If you do you may have to go under speed transducer set-up on the A75 and change the setting from default to none. "

Excessive overshoot

I am having excessive overshoot. The autopilot was working fine for the entire trip from Florida until the last day. Then the overshoot started to get excessive until it would just keep going further and further off. Like the first overshoot would be +1°, then it would correct back to -3°, then +7°, and so on.The system is an EV-100, wheel motor, P70 controller, ACU-100, A75 MFD. System gain is set to performance because I was in the ICW.See More

"The radar will not use the open nmea2000 (seatalk NG) connection. It will use the Raynet port on the back of the A75. I would break down the network. Begin with just Raymarine devices. It should be a slam-dunk. That's because the built in GPS…"

"The old system had the two inputs (Depth/speed and wind) daisy chained (I guess you would call it that) into a Lowrance HDS8 MFD. This worked well (except that the old ST3000 autopilot didn't converse with anything) Then the HDS8 went t*** up…"

"No, not at a dock, on a plotted course, at 5knts. The paddle wheel is read easily by the A75. "Discovery" on the A75 calls the speed input (and depth) a DST200. This was on the boat when I bought it. By Furuno. When I look for it on the…"

speed input to a EV-100

I have an EV-1 connected to a P70 controller with an ACU-100. I just installed a A75 MFD and have speed, depth, and wind over a NEMA 2000 bus to the seatalkng backbone. I receive all the NEMA data just fine at the A75 but when I try to TRACK the P70 says it has no speed input. I try to troubleshoot and the P70 says that speed & depth are not available and to see the manual. I have been through the manual back to front and can't find any reference to speed or depth inputs. Does anyone have…See More

"Hi Don,  Glad to hear of your success. Yes, you may connect the backbone power to the same power source as the ACU-100, however the SeaTalkNg's power source must be protected by a 5A fuse or circuit breaker."
