RL70C inside the cabin

Dear all,Cheers to everyone. I am new to the forum. My question is slightly different. I bought recently a boat in Brazil, which came with the RL70C (with a scanners needing a review), ST4000+ and ST60+ instruments. I have the charts updated to the last version of the available paper charts for the region I sail. The problem is the location of the screen, at the navigation table, on the bulkhead facing to the front of the boat. Even if I rush from the cockpit to the cabin to check the plotter…See More

adding software

I have a 2007 raymarine C 120 ( classic ) on the boat I just bought. It does not have a card in it.  Obviously, I need a card. I assume it would need a Navionics Gold card??  Someone said I could use the new Navionics Plus card instead?Someone also told me I have to update the software prior to inserting the card. How do I go about that?  What do I need to buy for that? This is all new to me so please be as simplistic as possible. This is not my strong point! Thanks!Don CSee More

Feeding an Icom M802 SSB Radio with GPS data from SeatalkNG

I don't have a question, but as I couldn't find any real discussion of this topic in my research I figure I should share here.I'm installing an Icom M802 radio which accepts a BNC connection for its NMEA 0183 GPS input, and is picky about the particular sentence it wants - $GPGGA.I have a SeatalkNG network on the boat with a Raystar 130 GPS connected. After some research I suspected I could use a SeatalkNG Converter kit which outputs 0183 including the GPS signal. The Icom expects the 0183 +…See More

Software Upgrade

I am attempting to upgrade the software on my Classic c120 MFD.The current version appears to be 4.5 and the latest appears to be 5.16 for my system.I have purchased and checked the format on the Sandisk compact Flash Cards 512 MB. this is the same size and format that came with the Navionics chart software that is successfully being used in the machine. When i follow the download steps and try to upload the files from the compact flash card the display just starts as normal with no upgrade…See More
