Hello all,

I was recently using a e7 Hybrid Touch display in Thailand and noticed on the chart, that at some points in the water there was a small pink symbol which looked to me like it was a jelly fish. I think it had a sold pink section to the upper left with 3 longer tentacle-like pink strips. After consulting the manual I cannot locate the symbol anywhere? Unfortunately I didn't get a picture and I wont be returning to the boat any time in the near future.

Does anybody know what the icon represents?

Thanks

Tom

Welcome to the Raymarine Technical Forum Tom,

In this case, a picture is going to be worth a thousand words.  Please use the MFD's Screen Capture feature and attach the resulting png file to this discussion.  The Screen Capture feature may be performed by:

  1. a brief press to the POWER button, and then
  2. selecting the PRESS TO CAPTURE SCREEN IMAGE TO SD CARD shortcut option displayed.

Unfortunately I wont be returning to the boat for many many months/years

Are they Pink Ducks?

Navionics says, they denote a protected area, (i.e. right whales, manatees, etc.) Raymarine allows you to turn off that layer, (Caution Area) but it may turn off other important information at the same time.

I turn mine off. I know my areas and having the pink ducks aren't worth seeing.

Thanks TJ.

I finally returned and got a picture! What does it mean?
