Hi All, I recently installed an A65 wifi. I'm still learning how to work with it. I had some difficult using at night. I can dim the bright but I can't set into night mode as I used to do in other brands. Doesn't A65 wifi have a night mode?

Welcome to the Raymarine Technical Forum Tiago,

Unlike prior MFD designs, the new a/c/e/gS-Series MFDs do not feature a night color palette.  As you have indicated, when operating at night, the backlight level of the MFDs should be reduced to a level permitting the MFDs features to be viewed, but will preserve the operators night vision.  Since the introduction of these MFDs we have received very few requests for a night color palette, owing to how well that reducing the backlight level has addressed the needs of a/c/e/gS-Series MFD customers.  If requested, a feature request will be logged to consider this feature for inclusion within a future a/c/e/gS-Series MFD software update as well as in future MFD designs.

Yes, I'd like to suggest a night color palette inclusion in a future update. I didn't like to operate this MFD at night, especially using chart mode in deep water when the chart become white. Reducing backlight level to be comfortable on the darkness sometimes we miss some details reading the instrument.
I have a I70 and a P70 working together and at night is spectacular in the red and black color pallete.

Your comments have been noted.

I will second the Night Palette request I have a similar experience.  I went out about a week ago for my first night run with my e127, a78 and p70.  In my small and tight helm the displays are in my face. I ended up turning them off and going by eye sight. They were either too bright blinding me or so dim I had to spend too much time staring at it. The P70 night palette was good but is not in my face either.  I really like these displays. Before this boat I used Nobeltec on a PC which had nice night screen colors (bigger boat too).  While I am making requests I’m not too thrilled with the tide chart feature but I haven’t spent much time on that.  It would be nice to have a separate app.  Again I am thinking of “Tides and Currents Pro”

I love this forum. lots of good information to look up and respectful sailors!  Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions Jim.

Let me add this one other thought. If your programmers add the night color palette and if you link it in with the shared display brightness feature that would be a home run.

One more request for the same feature, night time colours are essential in my opinion, and if all be Raymarine instruments have it then why not the mfds? Being able to change from day to night mode and have it synched just like the brightness would also be very convenient. Please add this in a future firmware release!

Good day and happy new year to this forum group.

Question: When can we expect Raymarine to ad a night color palette to its line of MFDs?  It’s been talked about in this forum for at least 3 years.

I am 100% satisfied with every other aspect of my Raymarine system’s features and performance; however, the lack of a quality feature for nighttime operations is a serious design oversight, and frankly somewhat of a hazard to safe operations.  Dimming the daytime settings is a poor substitute.

I’d just accept this flaw “as is” but it’s been suggested in this forum that it’s a software fix.  If that’s the case, please act on our requests for help.

Thank you.

Running an a78---  I have installed V14.  Is there a version that gives us the option of a night color scheme at this time?  Or am I remembering my old Garmin system?
