I have recently sold my 2008 Targa 44 with IPS. The buyer hammered me on price and didnt want the Raymarine kit (he wants Garmin since that what new fairlines have) so I took it all off for the new boat.
My E series plotter, ST60's and ST6001 are all fine but I want to know if I can use my old course computer.
Looking at the installation manual here http://www.manualslib.com/manual/138214/Raymarine-Volvopenta-Ips-Au...
It seems the IPS was an S3G course computer with the attached IPS DPU box connected by sea-talk. Ive opened the course computer box up and all the connection seem to be as a standard S3G.
Is there any difference or is the IPS pack just an S3G and then the IPS DPU box? (I have a picture to add but admin have not authorized it yet)
My new boat has a Raymarine A/P but the CC is damaged so I hoped to substitue my old system as its newer and a better setup. The boat already has a Hydraulic pump, ruudder reference sensor and fluxgate installed.
The course computer does have different software when noted as a S3G IPS course computer. The software will need to be changed in order to use the course computer with a different drive system. We do the software change at the Service Center for free you will just need to pay for shipping the unit to the below address.
