Hello,

I have the Navionics iPad chart software and it lists that it supports the C classic series with the addition of a WiFi router. Could you advise how the C80 could be connected to the wifi router?

Also, with this configuration would the new Raymarine iPad apps function with the C80?

Thanks and Regards,

Dave

Welcome to the Raymarine Technical Forum Dave,

C-Series Classic MFDs (i.e. C70, C80, and C120) lack support for SeaTalkhs communications protocol, which is central to WiFi integration with Raymarine products.

While Raymarine's E-Series Classic MFDs (i.e. E80, E120), C-Series Widescreen MFDs, (i.e. C90W, C120W, C140W), and E-Series Widescreen MFDS (i.e. E90W, E120W, E140W) feature support for SeaTalkhs communications protocol Raymarine dropped support for WiFi integration with these  MFDs in 2011 for the reasons specified within discussion topic Wifi Router to Network Switch to display e120w on my iPad.

Support for WiFi integration is now limited to Raymarine's recently introduced c/e-Series MFDs (c95, c97, c125, c127, e7, e7D, e95, e97, e125, e127).

There are some third party NMEA 0183 to WiFi interfaces (ex. Digital Yacht WLN10) available in the market.  As C-Series Classic MFDs feature a NMEA 0183 I/O port, you may want to consider such a device.

Hello,

I would like to connect a Raymarine C80 (2005) to an iPad to play iRegatta or other software that read NMEA 0183 data, like iNavx or NMEAremote. So I think it's enough to connect it by NMEA 0183, using a Digital Yacht WLN10 or some other Wi-Fi multiplexer (s.a. Brookhouse iMux, Shipmodul Miniplex 2Wi, Comar NMEA 2 WiFi). I don't know yet if the multiplexer I'm going to use need to run at 4800 bauds or 38400 bauds; it's important to know that because some multiplexers work well with both baudrates, but the Digital Yacht produces two type of WLN that are 10 (4800 bauds) and 10HS (38400 bauds).

Thanks for your help.

Regards.

Mario
Hi
I have a C80. I bought the Shipmate Miniplex2Wi and it works fine, http://www.shipmodul.com/en/miniplex-2wi.html. I use several iPad apps for navigation but honestly the iNavX is the best. You find EVERYTHING about the bauds you asked for here: http://www.shipmodul.com/downloads/manuals/MiniPlex-2_V3.19.pdf

Should AIS data be involved then you will need a NMEA 0183 multiplexer supporting both 38400 and 4800 BAUD rates.

I have 2 linked C90W MFDs

Ok. I have not received them. I just searched through all my spam and junk mail files as well... AIRCALAVIATION@GMAIL.COM or AIRPLANE_DR@YAHOO.COM.

Are the files quite large and getting kicked back to you by chance?

THANK YOU!
