I have an (old) autopilot Furuno FAP 50 that is still in a perfect condition.
But I would link the AP to the my C140W in order to have an heading from the AP fluxgate and to have a NAV mode on the AP.
The vendor told me that I only have to connect the braun and the yellow of the multi cable to the NMEA + and - of the AP.
But it doesn't work. No heading on the C140W and when I set the AP in NAV mode I have a blinking cross that means that there are any signal from the C140 W
And, if I am right, the braun and yellow cable are for the NMEA OUT, so I can?t understand how the heading signal could go from the Fluxgate to the C140W without an NMEA IN
Could you help me again ?
Many thanks in advance
Yes, you would need to connect both directions of NMEA 0183 to have communication between the two units. On the C140W you would connection the autopilot +/- NMEA Output to the White (+) and Green (-) NMEA Input on the C140W, the from the autopilot connect the +/- NMEA Input to the Yellow (+) and Brown (-) NMEA Output on the C140W.
