Airmar P79 transducer garmin compatible with Raymarine i40?

I have an existing Garmin Airmar P79 transducer used with a garmin device.  Can I use the same transducer for a new Raymarine i40 depth display?

Welcome to the Raymarine Technical Forums Tammy and Gordie,

Unfortunately the Airmar P79 transducer for Garmin products is not compatible with the Raymarine i40, they both utilize different transducer cables. The P79 transducer part number that is compatible with the i40 instrument is E26001-pz.

"I can not add to this, they instruments are obviously receiving the data through Seatalk if that is the only connection.  Does the SL70RC have a fishfinder module attached which can be providing the Depth and Speed data?"

"Interesting. Just curious, even though the ST4000+ receives, displays & uses the NMEA 0183 data why is it unable to output it? As always, thanks for your help!"

Underway - Raymarine, US replied to ed's discussion Wiring instruments sea talk and sea talk ng
"The i60 is a instrument display that can work either Seatalk or Seatalk NG, you can connect Seatalk to work on the existing Seatalk bus with a Seatalk to Seatalk NG adapter cable (under the adapter and accessories tab)."

Underway - Raymarine, US replied to ER ROU's discussion i40 Speed
"The ST4000+ will not output SOG NMEA 0183 sentence on Seatalk, so that is the reason why it won't see it.   You can display SOG, but the i60 will only receive Speed Through the Water data from the speed transducer."
